Roosevelt Elementary School in Park Ridge again honored those who have served in the United States military by inviting local veterans to share personal stories of their service to the country. Over 30 veterans visited classrooms to talk to children, answer questions and share mementos from their military service throughout the day.

Yes, the rumors are true. Sadly, after 28 years at this address, and 80 years in Park Ridge, we are closing our Prospect Avenue office doors for the final time Friday, as most of the staff here relocates to our new home in the Pioneer Press corporate office in Glenview.

You could hardly invent a story as strange as that of the once socially prominent Bouvier-Beale women, a mother and daughter, who were cousins of former first lady Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy.
